The impending Remembrance ceremonies, and indeed our Samhuinn rite had given me pause to think about what we give up and surrender in pursuit of a higher goal.
I asked the Cailleach to take something from me that’s been a big part of my life for many years. Giving it up is and will be continue to be one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, and yet only a handful of people will appreciate the sacrifice. Only a few more might join me in celebrating the result.
